Why Sunscreen?

Billions of people spend their day outside every day of the year, but many of these people are unaware of the effects sun can have on your skin, long and short term. Some long and short-term effects are burns, scabs, wrinkles, and melanoma. Free radicals start to form in your skin and other parts of your body when you are exposed to the sun’s harmful rays. These free radicals are what cause wrinkles and aging. In order to protect yourself you could wear protective clothing and only stay in the shade...but most people like to spend time outdoors and enjoy the sun, without sweating from the heat. Since these other ways of protection are not practical, if you want to prevent premature aging and skin cancer, you must use sunscreen daily to prevent free radicals from forming. Learn more about free radicals here.

How can we protect free radicals from forming?

Not all sunscreens are created equal. There are two rays that effect your skin; UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays do not burn your skin, but penetrate deep resulting in wrinkling and premature aging. UVB rays burn your top layers of the skin. This results in possible skin cancer and irreversible damage. Once free radicals have formed, a chain reaction begins, so it is best to try to prevent them from even starting to form. Because of these two different types of rays, you need to use a Broad-Spectrum sunscreen. This is the only type of sunscreen that will protect you from both UVA and UVB rays.

Belli recommends you to use Pure Radiance Facial Sunscreen daily in order to protect yourself from UVA and UVB rays. The great thing about Pure Radiance Facial Sunscreen is that you can use either as a makeup base, or just as a tinted moisturizer. You can continue your normal beauty routine without your face feeling greasy like most facial sunscreens.
