Pregnancy Safe
Belli is Picky about our ingredients, and our purpose is to to give you peace of mind and be able to Believe in Better Skin. Belli offers ingredient safety to all people for any age or stage of your life.
Good example, if you are trying to conceive or are pregnant, you may be concerned about certain chemicals like caffeine that may not be harmful to you but may be questionable for a developing baby. Some common skincare ingredients, like glycolic acid or benzoyl peroxide, are similar.* Because skin care products include so many different ingredients, Belli wants to support everyone that is concerned about potentially toxic ingredients, especially expecting and new moms. Belli is developed with YOU in mind, so that you can enjoy beautiful skin in all stages of your life.

Unique Ingredient Safety Screening Process

Belli was founded on a unique safety screening process to try and avoid ingredients, synthetic or natural, with known links to birth defects or harmful effects while breastfeeding.

As a result of the unique screening process, here are just a few of the red-flagged ingredients that were excluded from the pregnancy products:*

  • Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, and Benzoyl Peroxide, common acne-fighting ingredients
  • Oxybenzone, a chemical sunscreen ingredient
  • Aloe Vera, an organic botanical ingredient known for its wound healing and anti-irritant effects
  • Rosemary, an organic herbal ingredient known for its anti-oxidant effect

You probably noticed that some of the above red-flagged ingredients are natural ingredients. The reality is that all-natural does not equal all safe. Poison Ivy and nicotine are natural.

Allergy Tested

Every Belli product is irritation and allergy tested on human volunteer subjects prior to final approval. We do not test on animals.

Paraben Preservative-Free

Belli does not use paraben preservatives. Paraben preservatives act like the female hormone oestrogen in our bodies. There are some concerns that this may affect our health. In particular, high levels of oestrogen can increase the risk of certain types of cancer.*

No Artificial Dyes or Fragrances

You will enjoy soothing, uplifting, and calming scents as you experience Belli’s luxurious formulations. These scents are from essential oils like lemon, peppermint, and lavender.

Effective Solutions Begin with Good Ingredients

Darutoside

Darutoside is a complex of two active ingredients: darutoside extracted from Siegesbeckia orientalis and Centell asiatica extract rich in asiaticoside. Recommended for stretch mark treatment as it is known for its powerful regenerating, healing and anti-inflammatory activity.* Shown to reduce the appearance of stretch mark length up to 52% in scientific research.** (* Data on File, **Research studies conducted by Phybiotex Labs, Sederma Group, France, 1997.)

Regestril

Regestril is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and promoting regeneration of the extracellular matrix.* Shown to reduce the appearance of stretch mark depth up to 72% in scientific research.** (*Data on File. **Research studies conducted by Phybiotex Labs, Sederma Group, France, 1997)

Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate)

Vitamin E is one of the most well-known and researched antioxidants. It’s an excellent moisturizer. With all of its many benefits, it’s no surprise that scientific research shows it is beneficial in protecting against developing stretch marks.* (*Research studies conducted by Phybiotex Labs, Sederma Group, France, 1997)

Gotu Kola (Centella Asiatica)

Gotu Kola is a perennial plant and a member of the parsley family. It has been used throughout history across the globe for promoting skin health. It has chemicals called triterpenoids that have been researched. Studies suggest these triterpenoids strengthen the skin, boost antioxidants in wounds, and increase blood supply to the area.* Scientific research shows the ingredient may lower the risk of developing stretch marks and the severity of stretch marks that are developed.** (*Data on file. **Mallol J, Costa D, Belda M, Sola M. Prophylaxis of striae gravidarum with a topical formulation-- a double blind study. International Journal of Cosmetic Science. 1991, 13(51-57))

Lactic Acid

Lactic Acid is a natural alpha hydroxyacid that effectively exfoliates the skin to reveal healthy skin cells hidden underneath. Exfoliation helps to reduce the appearance of acne scars, age-related spots and pigmentation and helps to firm up sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles by promoting collagen growth in the deeper layers of the skin.* Lactic acid is known to be gentler than other AHAs and less likely to overdry or irritate the skin (which can lead to breakouts). There are no known links to birth defects or harmful effects while breastfeeding to lactic acid unlike some other AHAs like glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and benzoyl peroxide. (*Data on File)

Colloidal Sulfur

Colloidal Sulfur is a mineral that acts as an Anti-Acne Agent. It is widely used in acne products to reduce the severity of acne blemishes and helps to prevent new acne blemishes. It is both gentle and effective. It helps promote exfoliation of pore-clogging dead skin cells, dirt, and oil which in turn helps with cell turnover and reduces oiliness. Because it is gentler than other more drying agents like benzoyl peroxide, it does not dehydrate the skin and irritate skin as some other ingredients commonly found in acne products. Belli was formulated in conjunction with ingredient safety standards for expecting and nursing moms while many acne-fighting ingredients do not.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that combats environmental threats like pollutants and UV rays that can cause free radicals and photoaging of the skin. Studies show that topical Vitamin C stimulates collagen synthesis, improves skin texture and tone, reduces brown spots, decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and helps prevent fine lines and wrinkles.* (*DA Guzman-Sanchez, et al., Topical Uses of Vitamin C, Skin and Aging 53–58 (March 2006))

Vitamin K (Phytonadione)

Vitamin K comes from leafy green vegetables. It has been shown in scientific research to improve the appearance of dark circles under the eyes when applied topically. There is also evidence that it helps with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.*, ** ( *Data on File, **Elson ML, Nacht S. Treatment of periorbital hyperpigmentation with topical vitamin K/vitamin A. Cosm Dermatol. 1999;12:32-4)

Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3 is found in many foods like meat, fish, milk, eggs, bean, green veggies, and cereal grains. Research credits B3 with several benefits to the skin including the appearance of hyperpigmentation, increased hydration, and the appearance of younger looking skin.* (*Data on file)

Zinc Oxide

Zinc oxide with Titanium Dioxide is a physical barrier sunscreen that provides sun protection. A physical barrier sunscreen stops UV light from penetrating the skin. Zinc Oxide is a very safe ingredient and used in diaper rash creams. In addition to its powerful protection against sun exposure, it has many other benefits as well. It has natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties and has been used to help speed up wound healing.* It is also a natural astringent so it tightens tissues (like large pores) and absorbs excess oil. This in turn helps control breakouts.*
